Concept Of Operation

By kdelmas, 5 June, 2025

The operation involves the daily delivery of medical samples or products between two hospitals in Toulouse using the FAZER drone. The flight duration is approximately 10 minutes, covering a distance of 9 kilometers at very low altitude. Takeoff and landing are planned within the hospital helipads, near the Garonne River. The drone will briefly overfly urban areas before traversing the majority of the route above the river. This aerial pathway may be shared with medical helicopters, and Toulouse-Blagnac Airport is located less than 5 kilometers from one of the two hospitals. Consequently, this operation presents a high risk (SAIL 6 according to the SORA 2.0 assessment conducted in PHYDIAS 1) due to the overflight of urban areas, proximity to Blagnac's Controlled Traffic Region (CTR), and shared airspace with medical helicopters.
