The FAZER drone was originally developed by Yamaha for agricultural crop spraying applications. This 100 kg drone has a cruise speed of approximately 15 m/s. The ONERA-modified FAZER drone integrates complementary ONERA avionics, which control the initial Yamaha avionics to ensure safe autonomous flight. This architecture incorporates safety features and redundant equipment to meet the high level of security required for the intended operation. Specifically, PHYDIAS 2 has enabled the consolidation of functions for cage trajectory maintenance, collision avoidance with other aircraft, and global supervision of flight safety.
