Joël Cugnoni

Short biography:

Prof. Joël Cugnoni's field of research focuses on the mechanics of composite materials which includes fiber reinforced composites, metal matrix composites and alloys, heterogeneous, multiscale structured materials and biomaterials among others. His main research interest aims to understand the relationship between the hierarchical structure of composite & heterogeneous materials and their properties to highlight new ways to design the next generation of multifunctional composite materials.

Short biography:

Pere Maimi is Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Construction at the University of Girona and director of AMADE-UdG research group. His research is in the field of numerical modelling and experimental characterization of failure of composite materials.

Julien Schneider

Short biography:

Julien Schneider is an Expert in the mechanics of 3D-reinforced composites, and head of Mechanical & Process roadmaps simulations for the Industrial Centre of Excellence (CEI) for woven parts for Safran Aircraft Engines, within Safran group. His areas of research are related to multi-scale simulation and the experimental measurement technics associated with those scales (meso/macro).
