    Igor Pontes Duff Pereira spent 3 month in Virginia Tech., with S. Gugercin and C. Beattie, as visiting student, to collaborate on model approximation and time-delay systems.

    This press article illustrates the vibration attenuation achieved on a Dassaut-Aviation Business Jet Falcon 7X. To this aim, (i) the MORE toolbox has been extensively used to approximate the faithfull but very complex dynamical models of Dassault-Aviation (obtained from finite elements methods), and (ii) a structured H-infinity controller has been designed to attenuate the vibration over a frequency-limited range.

    • The toolbox has been used, through the Loewner interpolation framework, to identify a wing dynamics subject to gust, in Onera wind tunnel facility. A controller has then been synthesized and implemented, as illustrated in the following video.

      DARPO
      A glimpse of Pierre's PhD: Approximation of a 48-th order building model to a 8-th order one over $\Omega=[0~10]$rad/s. The frequency response of the error $H(s)−\hat{H}(s)$ between the full-order model $H$ and the reduced order one $\hat{H}$ is plotted at the top. The decrease of the relative $\mathcal{H}_{2,\Omega}$-error between the two models is plotted at the bottom.

    • Some bugs have been fixed (one was regarding the time limitation... which has been removed).
    • Charles Poussot-Vassal presents results on $\mathcal{H}_\infty$-norm upper bound computation and application of DARPO in the aeronautic domain at the 19th IFAC World Congress (Cape Town, South Africa).

  • June (Onera / Dassault-Aviation agreement on the MORE toolbox)
    • A license agreement has been signed between Dassault-Aviation and Onera/DCSD for the use of the MORE toolbox.
      Engineers from Dassault-Aviation will now use the toolbox for their model approximation problem and control law developments. This agreement has been rendered possible thanks to the Clean Sky European project.
