Olivier Marquet, Jean-Lou Pfister and Marco Carini submitted abstracts to participate to the  16th European Turbulence Conference, August 21-24 2017, in Stockholm, Sweden.

Olivier Marquet and Jean-Lou Pfister visited Matthew Juniper, professor at University of Cambrige, UK. We discussed about shape-optimization technique and their application to stabilize aero-elastic modes.

Jean-Lou Pfister and Johann Moulin submitted abstracts to attend the upcoming Seventh International Symposium Bifurcations and Instabilities in Fluid Dynamics, July 11-14 2017, The Woodlands, TX, USA.  

Welcome to Geog Lopez, master's student at University Paris Saclay, who will investigate during 5 months the "Optimal fluid perturbations for the deformations of flexible foils".

Welcome to Pauline Bonnet, master student at ENSTA-ParisTech, who will investigate during 6 months the Fluid/structure stability of motion-induced phenomena based on immersed boundary methods. 

Olivier Marquet and Marco Carini submit an abstract for the upcoming conference XXIII Congresso – Associazione Italiana di Meccanica Teorica e Applicata,  4-7 September 2017, in Salerno, Italy. Marco Carini leaves the AEROFLEX team for a good reason. He has now a permanent position in the Department of Aerodynamics, Aeroelasticity and Acoustics,at ONERA. 
Marco will work in the research group Avions Civils (ACI) on the design of new concepts for civil aircraft.

Olivier Marquet visits the MEMPHIS team, Angelo Iollo and Michel Bergmann, at INRIA Bordeaux, France, to start a collaboration about the propulsive efficiency of flapping-based elastic wings. 

Among other research activities, the MEMPHIS team develops efficient numerical tools to compute the deformation of elastic structures moving in fluids.
