WP3-WP4-WP5 Technical Progress Meeting
Museum Building - Trinity College Dublin – Dublin (Ireland)
April, 22nd and 23rd, 2024
INVENTOR's TRM-PMM-3 was held in Chalmers at M36 in June 2023. Due to the 6-months extension of the project, no technical review was expected before the end of the projet at M54 (October 2024), which meant a very long period of about 17 months without face-to-face technical discussions. For this reason, a Technical Review Meeting of WP3, WP4 and WP5 has been organized on April, 22nd and 23rd, 2024 to review the most recent technical activities in these work packages (knowing that the only remaining activities in WP2 were only linked to the specifications of the final tests in NWB in WP5). This meting was purely technical, with only minor management aspects (typically deliverables issued and the possible options to organize INVENTOR's Final Dissemination and Exploitation Workshop at M54).
For this opportunity, Gareth Bennett from Trinity College Dublin (Ireland) kindly accepted to home the meeting in the Museum Building of his university. 15 partners were able to participate on-site, wheras 12 partners could not make the trip, so ERDYN provided a Webex link to allow online participation. In total 27 partners attended on-site or online. Note that this meeting was organized for the consortium only, without participation of the Advisory Board.
At the date of this meeting (April 2024), studies at component level in WP3 and WP4 were almost completed, whereas the final WP5 tests in NWB on airframe models had just been completed, less than 6 weeks before. Consequently the meeting was the opportunity (i) to have in-depth surveys of the last activities in WP3 and WP4 and (ii) to have a first flavor of early results from the NWB tests, thanks to efforts by our colleagues from Airbus, Dassault and DLR, namely Aline Scotto, Vincent Fleury and Michael Pott-Pollenske.
For the record, Monday April 22nd was "Trinity Monday", an old tradition of this venerable university where the names of new Scholars and Fellows are announced from the steps of the Examination Hall in Front Square by the Provost. Our colleague Gareth Bennett had been told that there was a strong chance that he might be named a "Fellow", which is a high honour ... and that's what happened : our best congratulations to him ! And we had the priviledge to see him the full day in his traditional academic dress !
On Monday April 22nd evening, the 17 present participants gathered in the restaurant “Dunne and Crescenzi” on Frederick Street for an unformal consortium dinner.
